CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — CU dominated the double duals on Saturday with Bethel University and St. Catharine College and won the combined score battles.Â
The Lady Tigers beat Bethel 121-59 while Bethel's men beat CU 102-48. St. Catharine only had women racing and CU beat them 154-29. With the combined scores, CU won the meet 169-161 over Bethel.
Coach Casey Smith was happy with how the home-opener turned out.
"We had great swims today, excellent team work and noteworthy attitudes," said Smith. "It was great to be in our home chlorine and swim meters. Compared to last year at this time, we are way ahead as far as teamwork and results are concerned.
"My freshman are doing exceptionally well, and it was fun to watch my returners improve from the last time we competed in meters (January 2015), last season. Really looking forward to the rest of our season. We broke several records today and I can't wait to update the board!"
