LOUISVILLE, Ky. — (RESULTS) In the final opportunity to qualify for the NAIA National Tournament Campbellsville University track and field competed in the Cardinal Twilight races at University of Louisville over the weekend.
PJ Randles and Clayton Embry both took advantage of the final tune up before the national championships and qualified for the 110M hurdles. Randles ran the event in 14.74 seconds to finish in fifth place and Embry finished right behind with a time of 14.91.
The time for Randles also broke the school record in the event.
Embry and Randles will be joined by teammates Demytreus Gipson and JaNaiqua Horne at the NAIA Championships.
The NAIA Championships is schedule on May 22-23 in Mobile, Ala. Campbellsville will be represented in the following events:
PJ Randles – triple jump and 110M hurdles
JaNaiqua Horne – long jump
Demytreus Gipson – 200M dash
Clayton Embry – 11M hurdles
In the women's field, freshman Brianna Harman led the way for Campbellsville. Her mark of 38.79-meters placed her second in the javelin throw. She out-threw Louisville's Katie Wimpari and Dayton's Sarah Sepanski.
