INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Campbellsville University indoor track and field competed at the Indianapolis Track and Field Challenge this weekend and came away with three National Christian College Athletic Association championship qualifying time.
Two freshman – Paxton Wiley and Garland Webb – shined in field events to lead Campbellsville.
Wiley, a freshman from Radcliff, Ky. competed in his first collegiate tournament and led the way with two NCCAA cuts. Wiley finished fifth in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.49 meters and also ninth in the high jump with an NCCAA mark of 1.83 meters.
Webb, a Louisville, Ky. product, came away with a seventh place finish in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.65 meters.
Campbellsville will now compete three-straight weekends. The Tigers and Lady Tigers will be back in action next weekend at the Cedarville Invitational and will have one more tune up at the DePauw Invitational on Feb. 13 before traveling to the NCCAA National Championship in Marion, Ind. on Feb. 19-20
