Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Lady Tigers got a boost of confidence today after a much-needed Mid-South Conference win over St. Catharine College, 9-0.
Campbellsville, which is receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25, wasted no time in securing a victory over the Patriots, starting with a sweep of doubles.
Bolor Enkhbayar and Grace-Laura Rowe combined for a win over Sofia Esteban and Iris Porras, 8-1. The pairings of Majella Nobile/Jade Letheby and Elizabeth Boik/Sara Coffman proved deadly for St. Catharine's respective No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams. Both matches were finished with scores of 8-0.
Singles play yielded similar results for the Lady Tigers as Nobile, Rowe, and Boik each blanked their competition 6-0, 6-0. Enkhbayar, in the No. 1 spot, allowed two games to Esteban in the first set before knocking her off, 6-2, 6-0.
Jade Letheby defeated Erin Pigman 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 4 match. Coffman finished Lady Tiger scoring with a win of her own at No. 6, taking down Deeanna Sparks in sets of 6-0 and 6-1.
Lady Tiger tennis moves to 3-8 for the season and 1-2 in conference contests. The Tigers team won by forfeit, moving them to 8-5 on the season and 3-1 in MSC play.
Both teams will continue their season with a week full of Mid-South competition. They take the courts of Kelly Hall Tennis Complex again on Tuesday, March 5, to host rival Georgetown College. First serves are set for 3 p.m. ET.
