CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville women's tennis team wrapped up their fall campaign at the Campbellsville Invitational on Saturday at the Kelly Hall Tennis Complex.
In eight singles matches, the Lady Tigers earned five wins, while going 2-1 in doubles action as a team.
Kaede Amano started the singles matches with a 6-3, 6-1 victory Ainhoa Garrido of Cumberland University and
Bolor Enkhbayar won in three sets against Asbury University's Kendall Jablonowski (3-6, 7-5, 10-7).
Majella Nobile then earned a 6-3, 6-3 straight-set win against Laura Winchell of Indiana University Southeast.
Belen Salazar from Cumberland ended the run of Campbellsville victories in singles play as she beat
Brooklyn Harris in a 6-3, 6-2 matchup.
Toni Pfeiffer and
Bailey Decker dropped the only other singles competitions for the Tigers. Pfeiffer and Decker fell by the scores of 6-4, 6-2 to Alexis Applegate and Jeannie Soto of Indiana Southeast, respectively.
Haley Owens got the Lady Tigers back on track winning in straight sets over Emily Ross from Asbury. Singles competition ended with Enkhbayar picking up her second win of the day without losing a game. She defeated Asbury's Kendall Leander 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles action, Amano and Nobile cruised to an 8-0 win against Garrido and Marianela Landi, while Owens and Harris teamed up to edge out Leadnder and Jana Schmaenk, 9-7.
The day came to a close for the Lady Tigers with Enkhbayar and Pfeiffer falling, 8-5, to Dana Frank and Applegate from Indiana Southeast.
Campbellsville is now done with its fall season and returns to action in 2018 with its spring campaign.
