JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Four Tigers and Lady Tigers competed at the 2017 NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend at the David E. Walker Track at Gentry Field.
Freshman
Tyler Lewis initiated the action for the Tigers, competing in the 60-meter hurdles on Friday afternoon. He finished the race in 8.32 seconds to place 12
th.
Junior
Adam Sandidge also competed for the Tigers in the 3000-meter run. Placing 11
th, he crossed the finish line at 8:47.53, just seconds off his record.
For the women, freshman
Shannon Martin raced the 400-meter run in 1:00.14, finishing in 22
nd place.
Also representing the Lady Tigers,
Ja'Zell Woodard-Johnson took on the triple jump, leaping 11.12 meters to finish 16
th.
Indiana Tech lead competition at the championships, claiming both team national titles. It was a fourth for the men and a first for the women.
