Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — In the home opener of the 2017 season, Lady Tiger tennis had no problem with Asbury University on Wednesday afternoon, blanking the Eagles, 9-0.
The win propels CU to a 2-0 record thus far before making a trip to defending national champion Georgia Gwinnett this weekend.
Campbellsville won all three doubles matches by only dropping four sets in total and winning 24.
CU's No. 3 doubles pair of
Kyleigh Murray and
Elizabeth Boik won the Lady Tigers first point with an 8-1 victory over Emily Ross and Collyn Bradley.
At No. 2 doubles,
Bolor Enkhbayar and
Grace Rowe teamed up for a 8-2 win over Alex LoPrinzi and Sarah Alford.
Kaede Amano and
Majella Nobile defeated the No. 1 doubles group of Caitlin Conyers and Alekandra Diaz, 8-1, to seal three points for CU.
In singles, Conyers gave Campbellsville the most fits but Amano put her down easily, winning 6-2, 6-2.
Enkhabyar swept Diaz at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0, to seal the dual for Campbellsville. In addition, the Lady Tigers' Nos. 3-6 singles also won. Nobile won 6-2, 6-1 over Alford and Rowe won 6-1, 6-1 over LoPrinzi.
Murray also won 6-1, 6-1 over Ross before Harris put a bow on the Lady Tigers win with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Brianna Gipson.
Campbellsville will now have a pair of tough matches this weekend in Lawrenceville, Ga. CU will play No. 6 William Woods University on Saturday, March 11 at 10 a.m. and No. 1 Georgia Gwinnett on Sunday, March 12 at 2 p.m.
