GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Lady Tiger tennis squad had a strong first day of the ITA Southeast Regional seeing five of their six individuals advancing to the second day, while a pair of doubles teams moved on to Friday's action.
 
In the doubles draw, the top-seeded duo of Kaede Amano and Majella Nobile won 8-0 over Bluefield College's Arianna Orozco and Mykenzie Roach. Bolor Enkbayar and Grace Rowe – seeded fifth in the draw – picked up an 8-3 win over Bethel University's Marcela Cordeiro and Rosselle Dorero.
 
Both Lady Tiger doubles teams take on pairs from Cumberland University on Friday. Amano and Nobile face Joana Barcelo and Jasmine Shankar, while Enkbayar and Rowe take on Ainhoa Garrido and Marianela Landi.
 
Toni Pfeiffer and Haley Owens dropped their first match of the doubles draw to Katie Swanson and Madelyn Kauffman of Georgetown College.
 
Amano – seeded second in the singles draw – picked up a straight-set victory over University of the Cumberlands' without dropping a game.  Both Pfeiffer and Nobile also picked up 6-0, 6-0 victories to stay alive in the women's draw.
 
Owens and Enkbayar rounded Campbellsville singles to advance in the ITA Regional with two more straight wins. Owens dropped just one game to Indiana University Southeast's Jeannie Soto and Enkbayar won 6-3, 6-1 against Dibi Siria of Martin Methodist College.
 
Rowe dropped a three-set contest to Barcelo of Cumberland. Rowe won the first set 7-5, but dropped the second, 6-2. In the third-set tiebreak, Barcelo edged Rowe to advance.
 
Each draw winner – singles and doubles – earns a spot in the ITA Oracle Cup next month in Rome, Georgia.
 
The doubles draw continues on Friday morning at 8 a.m. ET, while the singles draw resumes in at 11:30 a.m. ET.
