CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Postseason action begins for the Campbellsville women's tennis team on Friday at 4 p.m. ET against University of Pikeville in the Mid-South Conference Tournament Quarterfinals at Kereiakes Park in Bowling Green, Ky.
The Lady Tigers are 11-6 on the season and finished tied for second in the Mid-South Conference at 4-2, but slipped to the third seed in the tournament after dropping the head-to-head matchup with University of the Cumberlands.
In the regular season, Campbellsville beat University of Pikeville – who is the sixth seed in the conference tournament – in a 9-0 contest. Throughout the nine matches in the dual, the Lady Tigers dropped just nine games throughout the entire team match.
Kaede Amano has paced Campbellsville this season with a record of 16-1 in singles matches, while going 16-1 in doubles action. Amano is the lone Lady Tiger ranked individually as she is No. 12 in the ITA tennis rankings. Among the doubles rankings, Amano and
Majella Nobile are 15th in the NAIA after posting a record 11-1 at No. 1 doubles this season.
The winner of the Campbellsville-Pikeville contest will move onto the semifinals of the conference tournament against the winner of the Cumberlands and Shawnee State University match on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET at the Western Kentucky Tennis Complex.
Last season, the Lady Tigers suffered a 5-2 loss in the semifinals of the conference tournament to Cumberlands.
Campbellsville starts its postseason run on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. ET from Kereiakes Park against Pikeville.
