CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Tiger soccer returns the Finley Stadium on Wednesday as Campbellsville hosts the fifth ranked Blue Raiders for the Battle of Highway 55.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Tigers enter Wednesday's slate in the midst of two straight wins, after back-to-back shutout wins against Thomas More and Georgetown.
- In their last game against Georgetown, CU was able to escape with a 1-0 victory off of a Connor Pugh goal in the 51stminute of play.
- While Georgetown ranks among the top offensive teams in the country, the Campbellsville defense was not deterred from holding them to only five shots on goal in the shutout win.

- The Blue Raiders enter the match ranked fifth in the country as they hold a 10-3 record.
- LWC currently ranks fourth in the country in shots per game, averaging 21 per match.
- Akean Shackleford leads the Blue Raider offense as he ranks first in the NAIA shots per game (5.82), third in shots on goal per game (3.09), seventh in goals per game (1.27), and tenth in points per game (2.91).
- The Blue Raider goalkeeper also ranked in the top 20 in goals against per game as he uses 4.18 saves per match to hold opponents to 0.73 goals per game.
HISTORY IN THE BATTLE OF HIGHWAY 55
- Since 2005, the Battle of Highway 55 has taken place 18 times, where CU holds a 1-15-2 record with Lindsey Wilson.
- They last met in the Mid-South Conference tournament last season, where Lindsey was able to record a 3-0 win over CU.
- Campbellsville's lone series win came in 2015, when the Tigers were able to upset the 11thranked Blue Raiders with goals form Marcelo Petit, Guilherme Fanck, and Gonzalo Sapena.
MID-SOUTH STANDINGS
- As the 2019 season is nearing a close, Campbellsville currently sits third in the conference standings with a 4-2 conference record.
- Lindsey Wilson on the other hand boasts a 6-1 record in MSC play to sit second in the standings.
- Life is in first place in the conference standings, playing to an undefeated 6-0 conference record.
- With wins in their final two matches of the season, the Tigers could overcome the game and a half lead behind LWC to finish second in the conference.
WHERE THE TIGERS STAND
- The Tiger defense led by Connor Grant, Max Kohlfuerst, and Marti Mercadal has been almost unmatched this season as they help CU to rank fifth in the country with 0.64 shut outs per game and sixth in total shutouts (9).
- To cap the Tiger defense, Owen Stott ranks eighth in the country in goals against per game, only averaging .61 per game.
- Last week alone, Stott was able to use ten saves en route to two shutout wins and NCCAA Defensive Student-Athlete and MSC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
- On top of this defensive metric, CU also ranks 11thin shots per game, averaging 19.07.
