No. 22 Lady Tigers earn first two victories of the spring over Brescia and Ky. Wesleyan

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 OWENSBORO, Ky. — Lady Tiger tennis got their spring going on Saturday night with a pair of wins over Brescia University and Kentucky Wesleyan.

No. 22 Campbellsville beat the Bearcats, 5-0, while defeating the Panthers, 7-2.

The night started with two wins at doubles in dominant fashion. Brenda Aguilar and Bolor Enkhbayar won 8-1 at No. 1, while Rebeca Scurt and Alabina Zaganjor swept their competition, 8-0.

In singles, Aguilar Enkhbayar and Scurt all tallied wins. Aguilar won 6-4, 1-6 (6-4), while Enkhbayar picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win. Scurt sealed the win with a 6-1, 6-4 win at the third-seeded singles.

Against Wesleyan, the only points the Panthers could muster were from a forfeit at No. 6 singles and retirement due to injury at No. 4 singles.

Aguilar, Enkhbayar and Scurt all dominated in the top-three singles matches only allowing a combined one set to the Panthers.

In doubles, the Lady Tigers only allowed two set points. Brooklyn Harris and Kourtnee Hayes ended doubles round with an 8-2 win to give the Lady Tigers a 3-0 lead at that point before the singles competition.

The win improves the 22nd-ranked Lady Tigers to 2-0 and now CU will have two weeks off until a match on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Indiana University Southeast.
