CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – After second and third place finishes in the first two meets of the 2019 season, the Tigers sit in the receiving votes category of the first regular season NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll.
As the NAIA released the poll on Wednesday morning, the Tigers were able to pick up 12 voting points, making them the 34
thrated team in the poll.
In the preseason poll, the Tigers sat in the 28
thspot, receiving 83 voting points. Despite battling injuries through the first two weeks of the season, Campbellsville maintained a spot in the receiving votes category.
Through two meets Campbellsville has been led by
Sam Kiser, who was able to break the 27-minute barrier in the team's first 8k of the season. In their lone 8,000-meter run of the season,
Jacob Hamilton (27:20) was able to trail Kiser, before a strong pack of Tigers came across the line around the 28-minute mark.
Joining the Tigers in the poll is conference foe Shawnee State, as the Bears maintained their position from their preseason ranking, sitting in 11
th.
Oklahoma City sits atop the rankings, receiving 21 first place votes and 591 total voting points.
The Tigers will not compete again before the next poll is released on October 3
rd.
Campbellsville will return to action, however, on October 5
thas they take place in the Greater Louisville Classic.
