Lady Tigers break three more school records in route to third place finish at Rose-Hulman

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – On Friday, the Lady Tigers hopped back on the track, as they returned to Rose-Hulman to compete in the Friday Night Spikes Engineer Invitational.
 
Continuing their momentum from last weekend, the Lady Tigers were able to break three more school records in route to third place team finish.
 
Freshman phenom, Hailey Stallings led the way for the Lady Tigers, adding to her list of achievements for CU. In her first attempt at the mile distance, Stallings was able to close in 5:27.91 to place second for her first school record of the night. An hour later, Stallings followed that performance with a school record, 2:29.20 in the 800-meter run where she placed third.
 
After an NAIA qualifying mark last weekend, Jasmin Green improved upon her weight throw mark to re-break her own school record an improve her B-standard to an A-standard mark with a 16.27-meter throw. Her mark gave her a first-place finish in the event.
 
Zoe Box followed Green's performance as she used a throw of 14.44-meter throw to finish second. Katelyn Young and Riquel Williams were also able to score in the event for CU as Young placed sixth (12.81 meters) and Williams followed in eighth (12.40 meters).
 
The pair of Young and Williams also capitalized on strong performances in the shot put. Williams led the way with a runner-up finish in the shot-put throw with a mark of 11.94-meter mark. Young followed in seventh with a throw of 10.32 meters.
 
Ta'Neshya Allen and Tamia Smith were also able to pick up points for the Lady Tigers in their respective sprint and jumping events. As the pair competed in the long jump, Allen led Smith as she recorded a second-place finish with a mark 4.96-meter jump. Smith followed with a jump of 4.68 meters for seventh place.
 
Allen followed that performance with another second-place finish in the in the 60-meter hurdles running a mark of 9.75 seconds. Smith on the other hand finished her night with a fifth-place finish in the 60-meter dash (8.34 seconds) and sixth in the 200-meter dash (28.33 seconds).
 
The Lady Tigers closed the day record 60 points, enough for third place overall. Rose-Hulman led the way to pick up 110 total points.
 
Campbellsville will now have a week to prepare before traveling to DePauw University for the Tiger Small College Invitational.
