CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – On Saturday, the Lady Tigers closed out the regular season portion of their indoor season at the Indianapolis Team Invitational.
On the track,
Krystan Armstrong was able to tout a strong performance with a third-place finish in the 60-meter dash and eighth place in the 200. In the 60, Armstrong used a time of 7.97 seconds in the prelims and finals for her third-place finish. She followed that running with 26.62 seconds in the 200-meter dash.
To finish the sprint distances for the Lady Tigers,
Taylor Cox picked up 14
th in the 400-meter dash running a mark of 1:02.91.
Maggie Parrish put her name in the scoring column as she participated in the 800-meter dash with teammate
Hailey Shank. Parrish used a mark of 2:37.84 to pick up an eighth-place finish. Shank followed in 10
th (2:39.75).
Ashlyn Elmore joined the distance side with an eighth-place finish in her season opener, 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:47.80.
Teychiana Dornan,
Ta'Neshya Allen, and
Tamia Smith led CU through the jumping events beginning with third, fifth, and eighth place finishes in the long jump. Dornan led the way with a marking 5.41 meters, while Allen (5.14 meters) and Smith (5.00 meters) followed.
Dornan again was able to pick up a third-place finish in the triple jump as she hit an NAIA B-standard mark, but was bested by teammate Hailey Payton who used a jump of 11.32 meters to win the event.
Allen also went on the pickup a seventh-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.92 seconds.
A quartet of Lady Tigers threw weight for CU as Young (13.13 meters) led Campbellsville in 10
th place.
Riquel Williams (12.98 meters), Zoe Box (12.50 meters), and
Brooke Coffman (11.41 meters) trailed.
Williams closed the day out for CU, picking up a sixth place finish in the shot put, marking a throw of 12.18 meters.
Campbellsville will now turn its sights to the Mid-South Conference Championship next weekend as they travel to Defiance College.
