LOUISVILLE, KY – Jamila Garba leads the Tigers at the Cardinal Invitational with her NAIA Standard in the 200m dash.
In the 200m dash Garba was able to demolish the school record by over one second with a time of 25.16 which is an NAIA A Standard performance. She placed sixth overall in the event.
In the 800m run the Lady Tigers were able to place two runners in the top five.
T'Lea Scott placed runner-up in the event with a time of 2:24.49 which breaks Haley Stallings school record of 2:29.2 set in early 2020.
Marlena Sipes placed fifth overall in the event with her time of 2:55.87.
Emma Steff was the only other distance athlete to place in a the top eight in an event. She placed seventh in the 3,000m run with her time of 11:27.03.
Haley Payton and
Alexia Boyd were able to place themselves in the top four in their respective jump events. In the long jump, Payton placed fifth in the event with a mark of 5.43m while Boyd hit a mark of 5.11m. While in the triple jump Payton was the only participant for the team with her fourth place finishing jump of 11.40m.
Ricquel Williams led the team in the throws events. Williams placed sixth in the shot put on the afternoon with her throw of 11.96m. Williams was also able to place seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 14.12.
Zoe Box was able to place herself in a scoring spot placing eighth in the event with her throw of 14.08m.
The Lady Tigers will now take a break from action as they will go into Christmas break. Campbellsville will return to the track on January 21
st at Bellarmine.
