CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville University women's tennis team earned their eighth duals win of the season Wednesday morning as they beat Brescia University 7-0 at Kelly Hall Tennis Complex.
Over the seven matches played between the two teams, the Lady Tigers never lost a set and only lost six games on their way to the sweep over the Bearcats.
The doubles teams of
Madison Hill and
Brenda Aguilar at No. 1 with
Rebeca Scurt and
Emily Carbo at No. 2 earned 6-1 and 6-0 wins on the court as the No. 3 team of
Angela Mendoza and
Emily Hibbs earned a win by default.
Of those six Lady Tigers that competed in doubles, Mendoza (No. 1), Scurt (No. 3), Hill (No. 4), and Carbo (No. 6) were in head coach Macarena Acuña's singles lineup with
Itzel Hernandez (No. 2) and
Blaeke Mitchell (No. 5) rounding out the six.
Carbo earned a win by default as the rest of the lineup cruised to two-set victories to seal the 7-0 result.
Campbellsville will play three straight away from home coming up with a pair of non-conference duals on Saturday and Sunday at Indiana Wesleyan and Marian before taking on Lindsey Wilson College next Thursday.
