CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Finishing the regular season on a bit of a down note with two-straight road losses, the Campbellsville University will host one more home game when they face Freed-Hardeman University Monday evening for a 6 p.m. ET kickoff at Finley Stadium.
With the continuing construction surrounding the stadium and the seating area, fans are still not permitted to enter the stadium to attend the game but can gather outside of the fence that surrounds Finley Stadium while still following mask and social distance protocols put out by Campbellsville University.
The game will air online on the CU Sports Network as
Zach Clements will be on the call for the postseason matchup between CU and FHU.
LADY TIGER NOTES
- Campbellsville finished the regular season with a 7-6 overall record and a 5-5 record inside of Mid-South Conference play to lock up the No. 6 seed overall in the MSC Regular Season Standings.
- CU finished their 13-game regular season, averaging 1.5 goals per game on 12.1 shots per game with 11 assists on their 20 total goals in the 2020 season being played in the spring of 2021.
- Abigail Proctor has been a main source of the offense in the spring after the departure of elite goal scorers Molly Hall and Lakin Walls as Proctor finished the regular season with six goals and three assists, leading the team in both categories.
- Defensively, the Lady Tigers have been hit with a bit of the injury bug as of late on their back line, but keeper Katelyn Young has been the mainstay in net, starting in all 13 games with every decision being hers this year.
SCOUTING FREED-HARDEMAN
- The Lions finished as the No. 11 seed out of 12 teams in the Mid-South Conference after a 4-9 overall regular season and a 2-9 record in Mid-South Conference games.
- FHU has earned a win more recently than Campbellsville as they won a 5-1 game against University of Pikeville in their season finale on Mar. 23 and finished the season winning two of their last three with a non-conference win over Lincoln Christian University on Mar. 20.
- These two teams faced off on Campbellsville's senior night as the Lady Tigers took home a 2-0 win at Finley Stadium behind goals from Proctor and Jenna Croteau.
- Three players had two or more goals on the season led by the four from Zoe Stom as she was supported by three goals from McCall Decker and two goals from Katy Weddle.
LOOKING AHEAD
- The winner of Monday's game will move on to the quarterfinals to be hosted at Lindsey Wilson College on Friday with quarterfinal and semifinal games being played in Columbia, Ky. on Friday and Saturday.
- Teams will be reseeded after opening round games as the Lady Tigers can only match up with No. 3 Lindsey Wilson and No. 4 Cumberland University as there is no seeding combination that would see Campbellsville matchup with either No. 1 Martin Methodist or No. 2 University of the Cumberlands.
