MOBILE, Ala. – Looking to start off an upset run at the NAIA Championship, the Campbellsville University women's golf team came up short in their first round matchup against Tennessee Wesleyan on Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers fell to the Bulldogs by a 4-1 final after earning the doubles point to start the dual but dropped four singles matches before earning another team point.
The doubles point was earned by CU's No. 2 and No. 3 teams of
Angela Mendoza and
Rebeca Scurt along with
Brenda Aguilar and
Madison Hill. No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches went unfinished as TWU earned wins at the No. 3-6 singles positions to finish off the win.
Campbellsville women's tennis will end the season with a 16-5 overall record in the first season for head coach Macarena Acuña as the Lady Tigers could return everyone outside of Aguilar to the 2021-22 roster.
