LOUISVILLE, KY – Lady Tigers improved upon previous times and marks at the inaugural Tiger Paw Invitational co-hosted with Georgetown College.
LaAuhhni Lewis got scoring started off for the team Friday evening. In 60m she placed fifth with a time of 8.03. In the 200m she earned another key point for the team placing eighth overall with a time of 26.46 which hits her NCCAA standard.
Alexia Boyd joined Lewis in scoring in the 200m. She finished ahead of Lewis placing seventh overall in the event with her time of 26.28. Boyd also had a fourth-place finish come on the day in the long jump. She was able to jump a distance of 5.37m.
Jamila Garba made her season debut for the 400m narrowly under the one-minute mark at 59.72 placing third overall.
Hailie LaMar made her season debut for the Lady Tigers. She scored in both of her individual events on the evening. In the 600m she placed seventh with a time of 1:53.08 while in the 1,000m she placed eighth and crossing the line in 3:22.85.
Emma Steff ran her lifetime best in the 3,000m run placing second in the event and hitting NCCAA standard running a time of 10:56.02. Steff's time breaks Haley Stallings school record set back in 2020 which was 10:58.92.
Ricquel Williams earned points in both of her throwing events Friday evening. In the shot put she placed fourth throwing 11.53m. In the weight throw she hit a mark of 15.05m placing second in the event.
In the relays Campbellsville placed fifth in the 4x400m. Boyd, Garba, Payton and Lewis were able to finish the event in a time of 4:28.17. In the 4x800m relay LaMar, Steff, Shank and Scott were able to finish third overall in the event with a time of 10:59.98.
Campbellsville will return to action next Friday when they travel to Greencastle, IN to DePauw University.
