Box Score LEBANON, TN –The Tigers were unable to come out ahead after a great second half losing the game 65-22 to the Phoenix. 
The first quarter started with Cumberland University getting the ball on the kickoff and were able to come up with a decent pick up. Cumberland had no problem getting started by Luke Halloway the QB for the Phoenix hit Elijah Gaskin for a huge pick up of 40 yards. The phoenix got in good position and were then able to get the ball to Jaylen Taylor on the 24-yard pass to put the Phoenix up 7-0. 
Tigers came out with a decent return and turned the ball over on a forced fumble after 
Joshua Meglis and Luke shepperson connected for 6 yards. Cumberland quickly was able to capitalize on the Tigers mistakes as Jaylen Taylor and Halloway hooked up again on a fade route in the endzone. This pushed Cumberland up 13-0 after missing the PAT. Campbellsville came out looking to pick up what they lost after Meglis completed a pass to 
Patrick Oden in the flats and a couple good runs from the Tigers until they were forced to punt back to the phoenix. Cumberland wasted no time putting even more points on the Tigers as Nick Burge had two runs totaling 63 yards. 
The Phoenix then called Jaylen Taylors number again giving him his 3
rd touchdown of the day as they were able to get the PAT and go up 20-0. Tigers came back out after the kickoff and went 3 and out unable to get much going. After Punting Cumberland had a one play 69-yard Touchdown run from Treylon Sheppard as Cumberland continued their offensive dominance going up 27-0. The Tigers were unable to pick up a first down in their next drive and came up short on 4
th and 2 after Archelaus Smith was hit for a loss of one. Luke Holloway had some Quarterback luck as he thrown into a double coverage Tiger defense, the ball was tipped and caught by Cumberland's WR Alex Valdez for a 53-yard touchdown on the one play drive, this led to the Phoenix going up 34-0 after the PAT. The first quarter ended with the Tigers down 34-0 after allowing 326 total yards on defense, and only being able to pick up 29 yards.  
The second quarter led off with Cumberland going 3 and out for their first possession without a score. Cumberland elected to punt a little outside of their own territory the Tigers 
Corydon Crawford returned it for 20 yards before coughing the ball and Cumberland recovered the ball back after a personal foul on Tiger #7 Cumberland scored on their first play from the 8-yard line by RB JJ Johnson.
Tigers came out after a touchback and were able to get the ball rolling after starting the drive off well with Meglis and Zac Cole getting a quick 17 yards, Tre Bass got in on the action to after taking one for 18 yards and the drive ended with Luke Shepperson getting a screen pass and taking it for a huge 35-yard Touchdown. Cumberland continued to keep marching down the field after going 43 yards to result in a Nick Burge. Tigers went 3 and out again unable to pick up 10 yards to move the sticks. 
Cumberland walked back out on the field and immediately went to Bryson Hill for a 60-yard touchdown on the first play of the drive the point after went through the uprights putting Cumberland up 55-7. Jager Gillis came in at QB to lead the Tigers after a banged-up 
Joshua Meglis went out of the game. Gillis got it started for the Tigers as the dink and dumped, with a few rushes up the field. Luke Shepperson was able to get a big pick up on a post route for 27-yards to get the Tigers in the redzone.
The Tigers could not get to the endzone after the big pick up and turned the ball over on downs. Cumberland came out after the turnover and moved the ball up the field but was stopped by the halted and forced to punt. The Tigers opened their drive with 70 seconds left in the half.
Luke Shepperson and Jager Gillis connected twice in the first three plays as the pair connected for 44 yards in total. 
Patrick Oden got back in on the action as Gillis hit him for a 20 yard pick up. The drive ended with Jager Gillis throwing his first interception to Trevor Mason on the 1-yard line with 8 seconds to go in the half. The Tigers finished the half trailing 55-7, Cumberland's offense looked unstoppable coming for 494 yards of total offense and 8 touchdowns. 
The Tigers started to get it put back together in the second half as they were able to get on the board and finish the half strong with 225 yards of total offense. The third quarter led off with Jager Gillis and the Tigers moving the ball well up the field with Luke Shepperson getting the target once again for 30 yards putting the Tigers in the midfield. Gillis and Oden were able to pick up another big chunk of yards to move the Tigers to the 22-yard line. Gillis and the Tigers elected to go for it on 4
th and 4 in the redzone, but Andre Silverson and Gillis couldn't connect in the endzone on the fade route. Cumberland picked up right where they left off in the first by picking up huge chunk plays as they were able to pick up several first downs with big rushing plays from JJ Johnson and Treylon Sheppard who combined for 48 yards on the drive as their drive ended on the 7 yard line as the Pheonix came out for their first field goal attempt as Hunter Matthis was able to put 3 points on the board and push their lead to 58-7. 
On the next drive the Tigers came out looking to score, putting on a great rushing attack that got the Tigers into the redzone, Gillis and the Tigers were forced to go for it again on 4
th and goal and were unable to connect in the endzone. Cumberland ended the quarter with the ball with an ongoing 8 play 47-yard drive. 
Cumberland led the 4
th quarter off on Cumberland 44-yard line, the Tigers defense held the marching Phoenix and forced a punt. After the punt the Tigers put together a 7 play 53-yard drive that ended being turned over on downs. Cumberland had a 3 and out drive shortly after as Campbellsville took the punt back on the return was 
Corydon Crawford on the 95-yard return. This put Campbellsville back on the board for the first time since the first half and Zac Cole getting a 2pt conversion after a fumbled snap. Cumberland came out and was stopped on a 6 play 18-yard drive that ended in a punt. 
Campbellsville and Cumberland's next possessions were split between with no action happening between the two. Campbellsville came out and managed to get back in the scoring column with a 40-yard bomb to Patrick McCown to put the Tigers back on the board, the score being 58-22. Cumberland took the kickoff back from 96 yards out to put the Phoenix up 65-22 after a made PAT. The Tiger ended the game with possession of the ball. 
The Tigers finished the game with 468 Yards of offense with 419 passing yards and 49 net rushing yards. Jager Gillis passed for 345 and 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Luke Shepperson came out and had a day with 193 yards on 13 completions with the one receiving touchdown. Campbellsville returns home next Saturday to host Bethel University. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
