LOUISVILLE, KY – Emma Steff once again found the podium two more times to lead the Lady Tigers to a fourth place finish score of 73.
Steff was able to set her own school record again in the 3,000m run Saturday afternoon. She placed third overall in the race with a new record time of 10:44.51. Steff was also part of the 4x800m relay who placed runner-up. Steff was joined by
Hailie LaMar,
T'Lea Scott, and
Marlena Sipes and close to a school record time of 10:06.05.
LaMar was the only other distance athlete who saw points being scored. She placed seventh overall in the 1,000m run with her time of 3:18.43 which earned herself a new school record in the event.
Alisha Claycomb was able to bring in key points in the 400m dash. She placed fifth at 1:02.23.
Jamila Garba brought in seven points in both of her final events Saturday afternoon. Garba placed sixth in the 60m dash at 7.79 while in the 200m dash she placed fifth overall with a time of 25.37.
Garba's final points of the meet came in the 4x400m relay. Garba had Claycomb,
Jorlette Bernardez, and
Haley Payton in earning the bronze medal with a time of 4:17.22.
Payton earned the bronze medal in the triple jump. Payton was able to land at a distance of 11.21m.
Ricquel Williams was the final scorer for the Lady Tigers. Williams placed third overall in the weight throw with a toss of 15.08m.
The Lady Tigers will now have two weeks to prepare for the NAIA Indoor National Championships.
