CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY – Campbellsville had no trouble on the road Saturday afternoon against Thomas More earning a 5-2 victory against the Saints.
Angela Mendoza and
Madison Hill were the first double's team to get a point on the board for the Lady Tigers. Hill and Mendoza won their matchup before moving to singles play in 6-4.
Addison Sutton and
Blaeke Mitchell earned the second victory of the day in doubles play with a 6-3 win.
Mendoza was in the one spot once again for Campbellsville. Mendoza was pushed to a three set match this time. Facing off against Thomas More's D. Schroeder, Mendoza won the first set (6-4). In the second set Schroeder came back with her own (6-4) win. In the third set, Mendoza closed it out with a (6-4) win.
Oriana Espinoza was next up for Campbellsville to earn a win in singles play. She won her match in two sets with scores of (6-2, 6-4).
Ariadna Perez cruised past her opponent in her match in the three spot for Campbellsville. Perez won in two sets (6-3, 6-0).
Mitchell and Sutton were the final pair to finish off the victory for the Lady Tigers. Mitchell fell in her first set but was able to recover to win the match in a score line of (0-6, 6-2, 6-2). Sutton won her match in singles play with a score of (6-1, 6-3).
Campbellsville will be on the road Friday March 4
th to face off against Indiana University Southeast. That match will begin at 3:30.
The team will have their home opener on Saturday March 5
th when the Lions of Freed-Hardeman University come to town. That match will begin at 2 p.m.
