CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY – Over the past three matches, Campbellsville finishes off the regular season going 2-1.
Lady Tigers had no trouble getting past Midway University on Thursday.
Angela Mendoza and
Oriana Espinoza brought in the easy win in doubles at (6-2).
Madison Hill and
Ariadna Perez did not concede a point during their matchup with the sweep at (6-0).
Emily Hibbs and
Addison Sutton were the final pair to secure the early point with a (6-4) victory.
Perez was the first to finish up her match in singles play in the three spot. She breezed through her matchup (6-1, 6-0). Espinoza was the next up to finish with her victory in straight sets (6-1, 6-2).
Mendoza did not see any trouble from her opponent in the two hole at (6-2, 6-0). Sutton was in the five spot for Campbellsville against Midway with her straight set win (6-2, 6-0). Emily Calfee made the sweep complete with a (6-2, 6-0) win and earning the team a 7-0 win.
When Campbellsville met against the Blue Raiders they faced a tough matchup. Campbellsville would go on to fall in the match 4-3. Mendoza and Espinoza were able to earn a (6-1) win but Lindsey Wilson earned the early point in doubles winning the final two matches.
Mendoza, Perez, and
Blaeke Mitchell all won their singles play matchups against the Blue Raiders. Mendoza was taken to three sets and won (6-3, 1-6, 6-3). Perez was also pushed to a three set match and won in the third (6-4, 0-6, 6-4). Mitchell was the only victor to complete her match in a sweep (7-6, 6-1).
On Saturday, Campbellsville finished off the regular season with a huge 6-1 win over Georgetown. Georgetown stole the early point in doubles winning two matches.
Campbellsville would not let that lead stay for very long. Perez won her matchup in the four spot while not allowing a single point (6-0, 6-0). Mitchell only allowed two points the entire match with her win in the three hole (6-1, 6-1). Mendoza was the third Lady Tiger to finish and won in straight sets (6-3, 6-1).
Hill brought in an easy victory with a (6-0, 6-0) win. Espinoza was pushed to the limit in the one spot losing the first set. She took control in the final two sets and winning in three with a score line of (4-6, 6-3, 6-3). Sutton made the victory final for the team with a (6-0, 6-0) win.
Lady Tigers finishes off the regular season with a record of 15-6. Campbellsville take their full attention towards the Mid-South Conference Championships next week from April 21-23.
