OWENSBORO, KY – Lady Tigers had nine top five finishes under the Friday night lights at the Brescia Bearcat Twilight Invitational.
In the 100m dash Campbellsville saw five of its sprinters score.
Jamila Garba led the way with a runner-up finish of 12.40.
Alexia Boyd was 3
rd in the event at 12.50,
LaAuhnni Lewis was 5
th in 12.80,
Haley Payton was 6
th in 12.89,
Taliyah Hazelwood rounded out the group with her time of 13.02.
Boyd, Garba, Lewis, and Payton were also able to come away with the win in the 4x100m relay with a split time of 48.60.
In the open 400m dash,
Taniel James crossed the line in 3
rd for Campbellsville at 1:03.71. The Shank sisters, Hailey and
Christy Shank brought in the key points for the team.
Hailey Shank placed 3
rd in the 400m hurdles at 1:13.49 while Christy was 8
th with a time of 1:19.53. Christy also was in the 3,000m steeplechase earning one more point in 8
th at 13:46.14.
Hailie LaMar crossed the line in 5
th overall in the 1500m run at 5:02.43.
In the field events, Boyd and Payton had big performances in the jumps. Boyd placed 3
rd in the long jump at 5.07m and Payton won the triple jump with her mark of 11.07m.
Ricquel Williams brought in the victory in the shot put with a mark of 12.77m,
Brooke Coffman was 8
th in the event with a mark of 8.98m. Williams and Coffman had one final key performance in the discus. Williams placed 6
th with a throw of 30.75m while Coffman had a toss of 29.80m.
Campbellsville is scheduled to jump back on the track April 22-23 at the University of Kentucky Invitational.
