BOWLING GREEN, KY – Key top 15 performances led the way for the Lady Tigers at the Hiltopper Relays over the weekend.
Jamila Garba had a busy day around the track Saturday afternoon. Garba started her day off in the 100m dash placing 9
th overall with a time of 12.31.
Alexia Boyd was right behind Garba in 10
th with her split of 12.47.
LaAuhnni Lewis was 15
th in the 100m at 12.69.
In the 200m, Garba jumped up to 5
th place and crossing the line in 25.26. Lewis grabbed another 15
th place finish in the 200m with her time of 26.20. Boyd, Garba, Lewis and
Haley Payton would go on to place second in the 4x100m relay with a time of 48.05 which hits an early season NAIA B standard in the event.
Emma Steff once again broke another school record. Steff broke the oldest school record in the books in the 5,000m run replacing Campbellsville great Miranda Meeks on the list. Meeks ran a time of 18:33.16 in 2007, Steff lowered that time to 18:30.84 while placing 8
th in the event.
T'Lea Scott and
Hailey Shank rounded out key times for Campbellsville. Scott placed 12
th in the 800m run at 2:24.55 while Shank was in the 3,000m steeple chase placing 6
th overall at 12:14.35.
Campbellsville only had two field event athletes in the top of the listings this weekend. Boyd was 5
th in the long jump with her mark of 5.28m while Payton was 15
th overall at 4.68m. Payton placed 2
nd in the triple jump with her mark of 11.38m, just .12m shy off an NAIA B standard mark.
Lady Tigers will return to the track April 8-9 when they travel to Bellarmine University.
