GULF SHORES, ALA. – Lady Tigers closed out the season competing in four different events at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.
In the 4x100m relay, Campbellsville was able to place where they came in ranked at.
LaAuhnni Lewis was the opening leg out of the blocks who handed it off to
Jamila Garba on the backstretch. Garba passed the baton to
Haley Payton on the back turn, who then handed it off to
Alexia Boyd on the homestretch. The team was able to run a time of 47.47.
In the 200m prelims, Garba and Boyd were both in the same heat with a favorable +1.1 wind. Garba placed 15
th in the preliminary round at 24.90 while Boyd was 19
th in 25.17. In the 100m Garba finished 21
st in prelims with her time of 12.20 while Boyd was close behind at 12.31 placing 24
th.
In the triple jump, Payton saved the best jump of her career for her final attempt. Payton set her lifetime best in the event with a mark of 11.96m which is .02m ahead of her previous best on her final attempt of the event.
