MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The #24 Campbellsville Lady Tigers took on the RV Bethel Wildcats on Friday night. The Lady Tigers lost a challenging conference match-up on the road, 2-0.
The first half of the match opened relatively slow for the Tigers as they trailed the Wildcats' gutsy offense. Bethel had four shots on goal to Campbellsville's one. The Wildcats were able to score the first goal, giving them a 1-0 lead over the Lady Tigers. Olja Ivanovic looked to change the momentum for Campbellsville with a goal-bound attempt but was blocked by the goalkeeper late in the first half.
The second half was a similar offensive story for Campbellsville as Bethel had the game's momentum, allowing Bethel to put one into the net. Later in the second half, the Tiger's offense kicked into gear as they took more shots and shots on goal than in the first half. In the 79th minute, Bethin Royle and Angeline Kieh had shots on goal but were not enough to score.
At the end of the match, the Tigers and Wildcats had similar statistics. Both teams had 15 shots and four corner kicks, respectively. Bethel finished with seven shots on goal, compared to Campbellsville's three.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action on Thursday, October 26th, to take on Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee. The match is set to begin at 6 P.M. ET.
