Tigers, Lady Tigers bounce back from recent losses to defeat Shawnee State, Pikeville

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Tigers and Lady Tigers were both perfect against the Shawnee State Bears Wednesday March 8th, dropping only a single game between the two teams. The next day, the men took down Pikeville 5-2 and the women again didn't allow a point against their team 7-0.

It had been tough sledding for the #22 Tigers in recent days. After defeating (RV) Union College back on the first of the month, they fell in three straight contests (all to ranked teams): #8 Xavier (La.), #9 Middle Georgia State, and #25 Huntington (Ind.). They rallied against the Bears and showcased their resolve only losing a single game in all their matches. The Pikeville Bears showed a little more resistance, but still the Tigers took them to task and were victorious.

On the #21 Lady Tigers' side, they had faced similar struggles recently with stiff competition. Their March had been winless after facing #5 Xavier (La.), #7 Middle Georgia State, and #16 Union. The women didn't fall in a single frame against Shawnee State and only lost one doubles match to Pikeville.
