RICHMOND, KY – Campbellsville took a squad to Eastern Kentucky Friday and Saturday and was able to come away with a lot of positives for next weekend.
Alexia Boyd and
Alexia Schofield led the way for the Tigers on the score sheet. Boyd was the runner-up in the triple jump with .20m PR and NAIA B Standard mark of 11.50m. Schofield also earned runner-up but in the long jump. She was able to hit a mark of 5.69m, only .02 off her PR and punched her ticket to the NAIA Championships in the event with a B standard mark.
Brooke Coffman brought the Tigers points in the discus throw this weekend. She placed 8
th overall with her mark of 31.95m. In the hammer throw,
Ricquel Williams earned a top eight finish in the event with her 7
th place overall mark of 37.47m. Coffman finished behind Williams in 9
th at 36.87m and
Asia Cooper came in 11
th at 35.47m.
Makiyah Allen only competed in one hurdle event this weekend instead of her traditional double between the 100m and 400m hurdles. She was 10
th overall this weekend in the 400m hurdles with a 1.73 second PR in the event of 1:11.69.
Nina Daman stole the show with an outdoor track PR of 19:18.33. She finished .09 seconds behind teammate
Emma Steff who was at 19:18.24.
Christy Shank doubled up in the 800m 1500m this weekend. Shank placed 8
th in the 1500m with a time of 4:56.28 and was 10
th in the 800m at 2:22.17.
KaNiya Douglas finished out top placement marks this weekend in the 400m. She narrowly missed the sub one-minute barrier in 1:00.06.
Campbellsville will return to the track on Friday and Saturday April 28
th and 29
th at the Kentucky Open in Lexington, KY.
