PULASKI, TN – Campbellsville had one final meet before going into Christmas break with a dual against UT Southern on Friday evening.
The Tigers started out strong with a runner-up finish in the 200-meter medley relay.
Sofia Tricoli,
Marlien Crewe-Brown,
Victória Lanza, and
Charlotte Stull swam the event in 2:13.98. Lanza gave Campbellsville their first individual runner-up finish of the day in the 800-meter freestyle in 9:59.31.
Clara Björkegren was the bronze medalist in the 200-meter freestyle in 2:25.12. Tricoli and
Abriella Taylor finished in the 2-3 spots in the 100-meter backstroke. Tricoli earned 2nd in 1:17.10, and Taylor was 3rd in 1:26.78.
Crewe-Brown narrowly missed the first individual win of the night in the 100-meter backstroke. She was .76 off the win in the event in 1:19.78.
Marissa Toms placed 3rd and garnered her first podium of the day in the 50-meter butterfly in 33.21. Stull and
Ellie Eisses placed 2nd and 3rd in the 50-meter freestyle. Stull was the runner-up in 31.09, and Eisses was behind her in 31.22.
Lanza pulled off the first win of the night for Campbellsville in the 100-meter freestyle. She won over the Firehawks Mikayla Chavez by 2.69 seconds with a time of 1:04.43. Tricoli found the podium once again in the 50-meter backstroke in 3rd and a time of 34.81. Campbellsville earned places 2-7 in the 50-meter breaststroke.
Chloe Little was 2nd in 39.38, Stull placed 3rd at 40.38, Toms garnered 4th in 40.65,
Taryn Harper earned 5th in 41.97, Eisses was 6th in 45.19, and
Lucy Ballard rounded out the group in 7th in 48.25.
Bjorkegren had her second bronze medal event of the night in the 400-meter freestyle. She earned a time of 5:19.97 in the event. Taylor joined Bjorkegren with another bronze medal in the 100-meter butterfly in a time of 1:30.37.
Crewe-Brown and Tricoli both made a podium finish in the 200-meter IM. Crewe-Brown gave Campbellsville their final event win of the day in 2:40.59, while Tricoli placed 3rd in 2:56.38.
Campbellsville was runners-up in the 200-meter freestyle relay in 2:01.78 with Lanza, Stull, Harper, and Eisses on the relay team.
The Tigers will return to the water after Christmas break before classes begin on Friday, January 10th, at the Centre Invitational.
