CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY – Campbellsville was split up into three different squads over the weekend, covering three different states.
At the Pioneer Invitational,
Hailey Shank ran both the 800m and 1500m. In the 800m, she placed 7th in 2:26.18, while in the 1500m, she placed 6th overall in 5:03.91.
Nina Daman ran an outdoor season-opening best time of 19:25.40 in the 5,000m, placing 4th.
At the Lee Invitational,
Kayla Barr competed in all four throwing events on the weekend. In the shot put, she threw for a mark of 10.23m, placing 12th. For the discus, she placed 11th with a mark of 29.83. Barr made career debuts in both the hammer and javelin throw. In the hammer, she was 22nd overall with a mark of 35.11m, while in the javelin, she was 17th with a throw of 21.74m.
Ariana Simmons made her season debut in the heptathlon. She set the school record in the shot put for the heptathlon event at 9.74m. She placed 13th overall with 2,675 total points.
For the Don McGarey Invitational at Kennesaw State,
Alexia Boyd led the way in the 100m, placing 6th overall in 12.51.
Piper Clark ran a collegiate PR in the 200m of 26.84, placing 24th. Clark put herself in scoring position in the 400m, placing 8th in 1:00.16.
Victoria Young dipped under the one-minute mark of 59.48, placing 5th; that time was 1.52 seconds faster than her outdoor season opener last season.
Makiyah Allen ran both the 100m and 400m hurdle events. In the 100m, she placed 9th overall in 15.36 and was 11th in the 400m, running a time of 1:11.55. Her time in the 100m is .89 seconds faster than last season's opener, and her 400m is 6.19 seconds faster than her outdoor opener.
TaMya Davis earned 10th place overall in the high jump at 1.55m. Boyd was narrowly off scoring position, placing 9th at 5.37m in the long jump.
Dasia Garland placed 12th in the triple jump with a distance of 10.12m.
Campbellsville will return to the track at the Jim Vargo Invitational on April 5th and 6th in Louisville, KY.
