LEXINGTON, KY – Campbellsville competed in one of the highly contested meets in the region over the weekend at the Jim Green Invitational.
Alexia Boyd placed in the top 20 in the 100m in 12.25. Jaci Johnson and LaAuhnni Lewis were in the top 25, with Johnson placing 24th in 12.54 and Lewis 25th in 12.56.
Alexia Schofield moved up the NAIA rankings this weekend in the 200m. She placed 7th overall in 24.21 and is now ranked 12th in the nation. KaNiya Douglas ran a personal best in the 400m, dropping under the 58-second barrier for the first time in her career in 57.98, placing 33rd. Piper Clark was close to the sub-58 mark in 58.09, placing 35th.
Makiyah Allen earned her ticket to the national championship with a school-record performance in the 100m hurdles. The previous record was held by national champion Natalie Zetrenne of 14.68. On Saturday, Allen ran 14.51 and is now ranked 23rd in the nation.
In the 4x100m relay, Douglas, Johnson, Allen, and Lewis placed 7th overall in 48.08. Clark, Johnson, Allen, and Douglas were able to come away with an 8th-place finish in the 4x400m relay in 3:58.11.
Schofield was the highlight for the Tigers in the field events. She improved upon her NAIA A standard mark over the weekend. She placed 5th overall with a mark of 12.29m and is ranked 4th in the nation.
Campbellsville will return to the track on Friday and Saturday, April 26-27, at the Louisville Open.
