LOUISVILLE, KY – The Tigers got in one final meet before championship season arrives at the Clark Wood Invitational over the weekend.
Alexia Schofield continues to be the leader of the team and has set a new standard for herself. She set her own school record in the 200m by .21 seconds, placing 3rd overall in 23.85, and is now ranked 6th in the NAIA.
Alexia Boyd punched her automatic ticket to the national championships in the 100m. She was only .02 off, tying her school record in the event, running a time of 11.76 and placing 4th overall, and is ranked 12th in the NAIA. Last season, Boyd qualified for the 100m finals at the national championship and was only one place off All-American honors, placing 9th.
Nina Daman set a personal best in the 5,000m Friday evening, placing 23rd in 18:45.60, her first time under the 19-minute barrier in her career.
Makiyah Allen improved upon her school record time in the 100m hurdles. She was able to lower it by another .08 seconds with a 15th place time of 14.43. Allen is now ranked 24th in the nation and is .03 seconds off an NAIA A Standard.
The 4x100m relay team hit an NAIA A Standard time of 46.34. KaNiya Douglas, Jaci Johnson, LaAuhnni Lewis, and Schofield were able to place 6th overall in the event and are only .28 off, tying the school record set last season. The relay team is ranked 6th in the NAIA.
The second relay of the day to hit an NAIA A standard was the 4x400m relay. Piper Clark, Victoria Young, Johnson, and Douglas ran a 5th place time of 3:51.30. That time improves upon last season's record of 3:56.84, and the team is ranked 7th in the nation after this weekend.
TaMya Davis earned a 4th place finish in the high jump with her height of 1.52m, clearing it on the first attempt of the day. Dasia Garland hit her NAIA mark with an NAIA B Standard jump of 11.59m, placing 18th over the weekend.
Campbellsville will now head to the Mid-South Conference Championships May 5-6 in Williamsburg, KY.
