Schofield puts on a show in day one earning NAIA All-American for the long jump and qualifies for the 200m finals

MARION, IN – Alexia Schofield continued her 2024 outdoor season success, earning NAIA All-American and qualifying for the 200m finals.

In the long jump, Schofield hit her best mark twice on her first and third jump of 5.88m. Her next closest jump came from her fourth attempt of 5.85m. Overall, she was only .03m from claiming 2nd and finished 4th. 

In the 200m prelims, Schofield was behind after the first 100m. Off the turn, she made her move to win her heat in a school record time of 23.24, .59 seconds ahead of the field. Going into the finals, Schofield is ranked third overall and will need to place in the top eight with nine athletes in the final to earn another NAIA All-American in the meet.

For the 4x100m relay, Campbellsville placed 11th overall in the preliminary round. Schofield, Jaci Johnson, LaAuhnni Lewis, and KaNiya Douglas crossed the line in 46.76, which was only .24 seconds away from qualifying for finals.

Alexia Boyd hit the long jump pit for the final time in her career. She placed 21st overall with her best jump coming on both her first and third attempt of the day at 5.44m.

Campbellsville will have a full slate ahead of them on Thursday. They will have the 100m hurdles, 100m, 400m, 4x400m, and triple jump.
