LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga.- The #16 Lady Tigers traveled to the Peach State to battle the #18 Georgia Gwinnett College Grizzlies on Saturday. Despite remaining close on the scoreboard, Campbellsville widened their undefeated streak of the season, taking the win over Georgia Gwinnett, 3-2.
Marta Prieto began the game by putting the Lady Tigers on the scoreboard, assisted by Lina Berrah and Bethin Boyle. Less than a minute later, Oddny Helgadottir scored another goal for Campbellsville, widening their lead only ten minutes into the game. The Grizzlies retaliated with their first goal of the game. However, Momo Chogyoji scored another goal for the Lady Tigers, closing the first half with Campbellsville still leading the contest, 3-1.
Georgia Gwinnett scored their second goal of the game five minutes into the second half. Berrah and Merel Houweling each attempted shot after shot; however, the Lady Tigers were unable to connect as the last 45 minutes of the game continued to unfold. Milly Shakespeare's control at the goal was unrelentless, collecting save after save and preventing Georgia Gwinnett from stealing the lead. At the end of the game, Campbellsville took the victory, 3-2.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action, traveling to Lebanon, Tennessee, on Friday, October 4th, to battle the Cumberland University Phoenix beginning at 2 p.m. ET.

- Prieto, Helgadottir, and Chogyoji each collected a goal throughout tonight's game. Berrah led the Lady Tigers with six shots and four shots on goal, recording two new season-highs. Shakespeare also recorded a new season high with seven shots faced, and matched her previous season high with five saves.
- Although the game remained close across most aspects of play, Campbellsville outperformed Georgia Gwinnett in multiple statistical categories of the game: assists (3-2), shots (15-13), shots on goal (9-7), and corners (4-3).
- The Lady Tigers have never lost a game against the Grizzlies, earning their third consecutive win tonight. Georgia Gwinnett had only scored one goal against Campbellsville until tonight's match-up.
- Campbellsville's longest winning streak occurred during the 2015 season with a 15-0 start; tonight's victory puts the Lady Tigers at a 10-0 start for the year, their longest streak since that term.
