Tigers make early statements at Vanderbilt and Marshall Saturday afternoon

NASHVILLE, TN - Campbellsville began the 2025 portion of the schedule on the road at Vanderbilt and Marshall on Saturday. 

Piper Clark ran her way to a top-ten finish in the 400m on Saturday. She narrowly missed sub-60 in the event, running 1:00.80. Christy Shank returned to the track this afternoon with a 9th place run in the 1,000m with a school record time of 3:00.59. Shank bested the previous school record by 5.01 seconds, held by older sister Hailey Shank.

Makiyah Allen was only .08 seconds off of tying her school record in the 60m hurdles on Saturday. She placed 7th in 8.92 seconds in the finals.

At Marshall, Kayla Barr made her season debut with a top-ten finish in the shot put. Barr placed 4th overall, with her best throw coming from her second attempt of 10.86m. Barr had a second top-ten finish in the weight throw, placing 6th at 13.18m. 

Campbellsville returns to the track at the Bellarmine Open on Saturday, January 17th, in Louisville, KY.
