LOUISVILLE, KY – The Tigers were back in Louisville at the Bellarmine Open over the weekend.
Makiyah Allen and
Piper Clark finished in back-to-back positions in the 200m. Allen earned a top ten spot in 10th in 26.24, and Clark was behind in 11th overall in 26.33. Clark was the runner-up in the 400m, dipping under the one-minute barrier for the second time this season in 58.88.
Emma Madding made her season debut for the Tigers in the 800m. She earned a 10th-place finish overall in 2:41.95.
Christy Shank was less than one second behind, tying her school record by .96 seconds, placing 9th in the mile at 5:12.37. Shank also traveled to the Vanderbilt Invitational over the weekend, where she competed in the 3,000m run. She placed 30th with a time of 10:11.91, narrowly missing her school record she set in December of 10:10.28.
Makiyah Allen was the runner-up in the 60m hurdles at Bellarmine. She ran .01 seconds faster in the finals than she did in the preliminary round, with a time of 8.98 seconds.
Makiyah Jones was in a two-way tie for 7th in the high jump for the Tigers. She cleared 1.35m on her second attempt of the day.
Kayla Barr competed her way to a top ten finish in the shot put. Barr was 8th overall on the day, with her best throw coming on her third attempt of 10.76m. Barr also placed inside the top 15 in the weight throw with a 14th-place throw of 12.31m.
Campbellsville will travel to Danville, KY, on Saturday, January 25th, for the Centre Invitational.
