DANVILLE, KY - Campbellsville placed runner-up Saturday afternoon at the Centre Indoor Showcase. 

Dasia Garland led the way for the Tigers with an NAIA B Standard mark in the triple jump of 11.47m. Garland earned the standard and the victory on her final attempt of the afternoon. Kenniqua Grate added to Garland's point total in the event with four more points, placing 4th at 10.18m. Grate picked up a second, fourth-place finish in the high jump with a height of 1.50m. 

Makiyah Allen will join Garland at the NAIA National Championship after earning an NAIA B Standard in the 60m hurdles. Allen ran 8.82 in the preliminary round, shattering her previous school record by .10, then she ran 8.86 in the finals, placing 2nd overall. Allen and LaAuhnni Lewis earned the Tigers 11 points from the 60m. Allen was the runner-up once again in 7.89, and Lewis placed 6th at 8.06. 

Emma Madding came close to breaking the 20-minute barrier on the track for the first time in her career. She placed 4th in the 5,000m run with a time of 20:11.65. Piper Clark was the bronze medal winner in the 300m in 42.82. 

Brianna Collins and Maggie Jewell scored points in the 800m run on Saturday. Collins gave Campbellsville three points in 6th at 2:46.51, and Jewell placed 8th in 2:53.64. Both Allen and Clark scored in the 200m for the Tigers. Allen placed 2nd overall in 26.57, and Clark placed 5th in 27.33. 

Julia Smaldone, Jennifer Buttery, and Anna-Claire Carwile completed scoring for the team in the 3,000m run. Smaldon placed 3rd in the event at 12:18.71, Buttery was 4th at 12:40.81, and Carwile placed 5th at a time of 12:48.00.

As a team, the Tigers earned 81 team points. Centre College won the meet with 108 total points. 

Campbellsville will now look ahead toward the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational on Friday, January 31st, in Louisville, KY.
