- The Tigers (2-0) will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday, November 2nd, battling the Fisk University Bulldogs on day two of the Lindsey Wilson University Brady Button Memorial Classic beginning at 3 p.m. ET.
The Mariners were first to score in the opening seconds of the game. However, graduate student TyShay Epps and junior Eli Brooks struck back with consecutive three-pointers to claim Campbellsville's upper hand, 9-2. The Tigers continued to stretch their lead with a relentless barrage of threes, hitting 11-of-18 (61.1%) in the first half alone.
Coastal Georgia struggled to contain Kramer, who erupted for 21 first-half points. His offensive outburst was Campbellsville's biggest strength, highlighted by a personal nine-point run in just under a minute of game time. After hitting a layup and a free throw at the 5:43 mark, Kramer hit a three-pointer at 4:54 and another jumper at 3:43. The Tigers' intensity built a 23-point lead, their largest of the night, on a Kramer three-pointer with 1:24 left in the half, ultimately taking a 53-36 lead into the locker room.
Coming into the second half, Jay Milburn's plays were crucial in maintaining a stern defense for the Tigers, recording a key block in the paint. While Campbellsville fouls sent the Mariners to the free-throw line, where they scored 10 points in the half, Milburn counteracted their efforts with a powerful dunk to keep the lead at 18.
Coastal Georgia attempted to retaliate, winning the battle in the paint 28-16, but it was not enough to stop Campbellsville's momentum. Javaughn Smith and Kramer's three-point shooting remained intense as the second half unfolded, thwarting any comeback attempt. Smith hit a three at the 5:41 mark, and Kramer sealed the game with three more triples in the final five minutes18181818, resulting in an 86-70 Tiger victory.
