Unbeaten Lady Tigers hold steady at #3 in latest NAIA Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Following a flawless 10-0 start to the 2025-26 campaign, the Campbellsville University women's basketball team maintained its position at #3 in the second NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll of the regular season, released by the national office on Wednesday.

The Lady Tigers garnered 506 points in the voting process to hold firm in the top three. The top of the poll remains a battle of unbeatens, with defending national champion Dordt (Iowa) retaining the #1 spot with all 20 first-place votes and a 7-0 record. Mid-South Conference rival Bethel (Tenn.) sits at #2 with an 11-0 mark, setting the stage for a competitive race at the top of the standings.

Campbellsville's ranking is built on a foundation of statistical dominance. Through 10 games, the Lady Tigers boast the nation's most stifling defense and efficient offense, outscoring opponents by an average margin of 36.9 points per game (87.8 to 50.9). The team's pressure defense has been relentless, forcing 25.0 turnovers per game and racking up 17.9 steals per contest.

Offensively, the Lady Tigers are sharing the basketball at an elite level, averaging 19.3 assists per game. Senior Whitney Hay leads the scoring attack, averaging 16.0 points per game on 53.3% shooting from the field. She is supported by sophomore Dea Bradley, who is averaging 13.3 points, and senior Talynne Shearer, who is shooting a blistering 64.9% from the floor for 9.4 points per game.

The graduate forward Hay was named the Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week earlier this week. That marked the first time in her career she received the conference's weekly offensive honor.

Hay earned the recognition after a pair of efficient performances at the U.C. Bank Classic against Tennessee Southern and Reinhardt. Against Tennessee Southern, she posted 12 points and 8 rebounds, followed by an 11-point, 4-rebound outing in the win over Reinhardt. For the week, she averaged 11.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while serving as a steadying offensive presence in two gritty victories. Her consistent scoring punch has been a catalyst for the Lady Tigers' perfect start.

The #3 Lady Tigers return to action this Friday, November 28th, as they host the Virginia University of Lynchburg Dragons to kick off the Campbellsville Thanksgiving Classic. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET at the Powell Athletic Center.
