Flag Football preseason recap and 2025 lookahead

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville University Tiger Flag Football team has been diligently preparing for their third season, with their sights set on a national championship this spring. This year's recruiting class nearly doubled the team's size and skill level, adding to an already strong foundation. 

Training continued throughout the summer following , culminating in the team's reunion in August, where they immediately began drills, weight training, and conditioning. The influx of talented freshmen ignited the team's preseason performance. Beyond games and practices, the Tigers focused on recruiting, community engagement, and team bonding. They held their annual combine on September 15th, welcoming talented high school athletes from across the country. The team also enjoyed various social events, including pool parties, cookouts, and visits to pumpkin patches, fostering camaraderie and strengthening team chemistry.

The Tigers kicked off their preseason at the Swamp Bowl Tournament in Gainesville, Florida, hosted by the University of Florida Club Flag Football Team. On October 25th, they split their opening day, losing to the University of Tampa 12-6, but rebounding with a 14-7 victory over the University of Central Florida. The following morning, the team secured a 19-7 win against the University of South Florida. The team celebrated their success with a trip to the beach before returning to Campbellsville.

On November 10th, the Tigers hosted Milligan University for a scrimmage at Finley Stadium. These two teams have a history of close contests, and this match up was no different. After a back-and-forth game, the Tigers emerged victorious with a 26-20 win. The following weekend, on November 17th, the Tigers traveled to Milligan for another scrimmage, securing their second win against the Buffaloes. The two teams are set to meet again during the regular season on March 8th.

As the regular season approaches, the Tigers are eager to build on their preseason success and make program history. Their first regular season game is against the Reinhardt Eagles on March 1st in Waleska, Georgia.
