ATLANTA, GA & DANVILLE, KY - Campbellsville was split into two squads this weekend with a portion going to Centre College and the other going to Georgia Tech.
In Danville,
Alexzandria Rivers earned a top eight finish in the 100m with an 8th place finish of 13.41. Rivers turned around with an 11th place finish in the 200m at 28.16.
Brianna Collins was the top finisher for Campbellsville in the 1500m with a 6th place time of 5:12.17.Â
Field events were led by a 5th place finish from
Mikhiya Jones. Jones cleared a height of 1.40m on her first attempt.
Dasia Garland placed 4th in the long jump on a 5.19m (2.0 wind) mark from her third attempt of the day. Garland earned a victory in the triple jump at 11.15m (-1.2 wind) on her final jump of the meet.Â
Kayla Barr finished in scoring position in the shot put with a personal best mark of 11.00m. Barr moved up the results in the discus with a 6th place throw of 33.55m. Barr's highlight of the day was taking the victory in the hammer throw with a 43.09m on her third throw.
Layla Taylor placed 7th overall in the javelin throw at 23.57m.Â
At Georgia Tech,
Makiyah Allen ran a time of 15.01 (1.2 wind) in the 100m hurdles. Allen was in the 100m dash with her finish time hitting 12.56.
Christy Shank ran in the 1500m while running a time of 4:42.58.Â
On day two of the meet,
Piper Clark finished mid pack of the results in the 400m with a finish time of 58.17. Shank ran the school record last weekend in the 800m, she came close to tying that school record on Saturday with a time of 2:17.43. Allen finished out the weekend for the Tigers in the 200m where she ran a time of 25.65.
Campbellsville will now split squads again next weekend. They will head to the University of Louisville for the Clark Wood Invitational and the historic Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania.
- Barr has now set a personal best in the shot put and hammer throw on back-to-back weekends.
