WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Campbellsville archery team took part in the 3D USA Archery Southeast Regional/Mid-South Conference 3D Championships this weekend.
In the qualifying rounds, the Tigers competed in many different events: recurve, compound, barebow, and fixed pins.
Alex Kingsbury competed in the Recurve College Men competition, shooting 145 in round one and 168 in round two for a total of 313, landing a top-ten finish in tenth. Leah Reesor, Ashley Thomas, Whitley Eastridge, Allyson Miracle, and Emily Davis competed in the Recurve College Women competition. Three of the five ladies finished in the top 15, while the others weren't too far behind to finish in the top 20. Reesor, landing in 12th, shot 147 in round one and 158 in round two for 305. Thomas, landing in 13th, shot 140 in round one and 156 in round two for 296. Eastridge, landing in 15th, shot 130 in round one and 133 in round two for 263. Miracle, landing 17th, shot 116 in round one and 117 in round two for 233. Davis, landing 19th, shot 104 in round one and round two, totalling 208.
Trenton Napier, Lance Powell, and Dawson Brown competed in the Compound College Men competition: Napier (13th) with 200 in round one and 199 in round two for a score of 399, Powell (15th) with 200 in round one and 194 in round two for a score of 394, and Brown (16th) with 189 in round one and 162 in round two for a score of 351. On the women's side, Carson Swanger competed in the Compound College Women competition, shooting 187 in round one and 166 in round two for a score of 353 to place 17th.
Hunter Berry, Ashton Chase Smith, and Kingston Utley all collected top-15 finishes in the Barebow College Men competition: Berry was 11th with 123 in round one and 127 in round two, totalling 250, Smith was 13th with 114 in round one and 106 in round two, totalling 220, and Utley was 14th with 94 in round one and 107 in round two, totalling 201. As for the women, Zoey Hudson, Tasia River, and Megan Wallace garnered top-20 finishes in the Barebow College Women competition: Hudson (13th) with 128 in round one and 126 in round two for 254 total, River (14th) with 141 in round one and 108 in round two for 249 total, and Wallce (18th) with 101 in round one and 107 in round two for 208 total.
Lastly, in the qualifying rounds, Christopher Wagoner, Tanner Edmonds, Grant Lawson, and Ryan Wolfe competed in the Fixed Pins College Men competition. Wagoner landed 20th with 180 in round one and 182 in round two for 254 total, Edmonds landed 21st with 171 in round one and 174 in round two for 327 total, Lawson landed 23rd with 137 in round one and 153 in round two for 290 total, and Wolfe landed 24th with 154 in round one and 131 in round two for 285 total. Sidra Brown, Rebecca Couture, and Haley Curtsinger competed in the Fixed Pins College Women competition. S. Brown earned 15th with 169 in round one and 177 in round two, for a total of 346. Couture earned 16th with 168 in round one and 177 in round two, for a total of 345. Curtsinger earned 21st with 107 in round one and 81 in round two, for a total of 188.
Throughout the Official Team Rounds, the Tigers had top-finishers in Recurve College Women, Barebow College Women, and Compound College Men. Ressor, Thomas, and Eastridge placed third in the Recurve College Women competition, scoring 64 and 77, totalling 141. Hudson, Rivera, and Wallace placed fourth in the Barebow College Women competition, scoring 68 and 75, totalling 143. Napier, Powell, and D. Brown placed as top finishers in the Compound College Men competition, scoring 74 and 77, totalling 151.
In the Mixed Team Rounds, Wagoner and S. Brown landed fourth in the Mixed Fixed Pins competition with scores of 60 and 53 for 113 total.
The archery teams will be back in action in Foley, Alabama, at the beginning of October to compete in the 3D USA Archery Collegiate National Tournament.
