CU RECORD BOOK: Jamelle Jones is ninth on the single-season pins list entering the 2012 NAIA National Tournament after posting eight pins in the 2011-12 regular season.

2011-12: In his first season with the Tigers, Jones posted an 11-0 record to finish the regular season ranked No. 1 at 197 pounds. He shared the 197-pound Mid-South Conference title with teammate Spencer Adams, and then defeated Adams in the NAIA East Region Qualifier to win the region title and earn a No. 1 seed into the NAIA National Tournament. Jones sat out the fall semester, but posted eight pins in his 11 matches since the second week of January 2012.

NORTH IDAHO COLLEGE: As a sophomore at North Idaho College, Jones claimed the 197-pound National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national title in April 2011. He posted a 39-3 record at North Idaho.

ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY COLLEGE-MERAMEC: In 2008, Jones claimed the NJCAA national title for 197 pounds and concluded the season with a 36-4 record.

HIGH SCHOOL: During his time at Dover High School, Jones was a two-time New Jersey state champion, two-time Beast of the East winner and was twice an All-American at the high school nationals in Fargo, N.D.

PERSONAL: He is the father of a 3-year-old son, Aiden. Following the 2007-08 season, Jones took time off from college to help raise his son and work as an assistant coach at the high school level.
