CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — After being named Mid-South Conference Player of the Week, the National Christian College Athletic Association named
Madison Stewart the National Student-Athlete of the Week.
The honor is the first for Stewart's career as she averaged 27.5 points, six rebounds and four assists per game in the two Lady Tiger wins over Top 30 programs.
She scored 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting with three made shots from beyond the arc in Campbellsville's 80-75 win over receiving votes Pikeville.
Stewart then scored 29 points on 10-of-19 shooting with seven rebounds and five assists in the Tigers 77-70 victory over No. 7 Shawnee State.
She finished the week shooting 54.1 percent from the field while making five shots from beyond the arc and going 10-of-12 from the charity stripe.
Stewart is 11 points away from becoming the 36thLady Tiger to reach 1,000-career points.
The Lady Tigers hit the road this week with a pair of Mid-South Conference games. Campbellsville travels to Cumberland University on Thursday night at 7 p.m. ET and Lindsey Wilson on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.
