Campbellsville University Athletics

RALEIGH, N.C. — Finishing in third place at the 2019 World Team Trials Challenge, Campbellsville University's Kenya Sloan earns a spot on the US National Team. 
 
Sloan, a freshman from Knoxville, Tennessee, entered as the No. 2-seed at 76 kg and won her semifinal match over McKendree University's Destane Garrick by criteria, 4-4. 
 
That setup a meeting with top-seeded Hannah Gladden of Lion Wrestling Club and Sloan lost, 10-2. Gladden was a 2018 National Team member. 
 
In addition to her third place finish this month, Sloan also finished runner-up at the US Women's Junior Nationals in Irving, Texas.
