Adam Sandidge paved the way for Tiger cross country on Saturday, winning the NCCAA National Championship — the athletic department's 24th overall national championship and 13th NCCAA title. 
 
Overall, the Tigers placed third of 17 teams in the Division I race.
 
Sandidge ran his second fastest time of the season (24:52.90) surpassing 119 other competitors. He was named NCCAA Runner of the Week on Oct. 4 and is the first NCCAA National Champion harrier in CU cross country history.
 
"I'm really proud of Adam and everything he has accomplished so far this season," said coach Hilary Lakes. "He has worked really hard and deserves this win. He has grown so much in running over the last three years and I'm excited to see how much more he has in him."
 
The win is the second straight for Sandidge, as he won the Mid-South Conference Championship last week to qualify for the NAIA Championship in Elsah, Ill. on Saturday, Nov. 19th.
