COLUMBIA, Ky. – As the Campbellsville University men's basketball team hit the court for the first time in 18 days, point guard
Taiveyhon Mason earned Mid-South Conference Player of the Week for the first time since joining the Tigers this season.
Mason went off in CU's return to game action on Sunday against Miami University-Hamilton, scoring a career-high 25 points on 10-for-15 shooting from the field and 3-of-5 shooting from three-point territory.
The three made three-pointers was also a season high for the junior from Hopkinsville, Ky. as he helped picked up the scoring load for the shorthanded Tigers.
So far in the 2019-20 season, Mason has led Campbellsville in both scoring (12.5 PPG) and assists (3.6 APG) while also grabbing over four rebounds per game as he's been a do-it-all guard for CU through the first half of the season.
With this being the first MSC Player of the Week for a member of the Tigers in 2019-20, the last time a Tiger earned the honor was on Feb. 20 of last season when
Stephaun Adams, another guard to wear number 14, earned his third weekly honor of the 2018-19 season.
Campbellsville will finish off non-conference play on Monday with a meeting against Caver College in Williamsburg, Ky. to finish up the Cumberlands Classic being starting the full swing of Mid-South Conference play this Saturday at home against Cumberland University.
