CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Justin Manning captured his second Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division Defensive Player of the Week accolade of the season, the conference office announced on Monday.

Manning continues to anchor the Campbellsville defense as he recorded a game-high 10 tackles against Cincinnati Christian University. Manning had the most assisted tackles in the game with seven.

Along with his 10 tackles, the sophomore forced the first Tiger fumble of the day, where his teammate Marcus McCants pounced on the loose ball at the 50-yard line.

As a team, the Campbellsville defense only allowed Cincinnati Christian to cross midfield five times on 14 drives. After crossing midfield on their first two possessions of the first quarter, the Tigers did not let the Eagle get into Campbellsville territory until the 7:09 mark in the third quarter when Cincinnati Christian intercepted a pass in Tiger territory.

The final three possessions that ended with the Eagles in Campbellsville territory came on Campbellsville turnovers in its own end.

On the season, Manning ranks second in the nation – tops in the MSC – with 13.0 tackles a game. Manning also has a pair of forced fumbles in five games this season.

Campbellsville is off to its best start in the program history since 1991 with a 5-0 start to the years. The Tigers are also atop the MSC Bluegrass Division standings at 3-0.

This is Manning's second weekly accolade of the season and of his career.

Next up, Campbellsville travels to Ave Maria, Florida to face Ave Maria University on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET.

Kimlee North from Cumberland University and Blake Ingleton of Lindsey Wilson College capped off this week's divisional honors, earning offensive and special teams honors.
