HANOVER, Ind. – Joey Hartlage led Campbellsville University with a runner-up finish at the Madison Kiwanis Invitational, hosted by Hanover College. Competing in his first 8K of the season, Hartlage crossed the finish line in 28:05.7, 38.5 seconds behind Webster's Jason Hickman.
As a team, Campbellsville finished fourth among the seven teams, just over 3 seconds behind Huntington University.
Adam Sandidge followed Hartlage for CU, running his first 8K of his collegiate career in 28:21.2. Wade Harris (30:28.3), William Pearson (31:16.6), Alex Robinson (31:20.1), Ross Allen (31:23.3) and Brandon Wiseheart (33:16.4) all competed in the race.
Manchester won the meet with a total time of 2:23.58.5 for its top five.
Campbellsville will take a week off but will return to action Sept. 20 in the Berea Invitational in Berea, Ky.
